De Minaur Grinds Down No. 5 Seed Medvedev

Alex de Minaur has reached the Roland-Garros quarterfinals for the first time in his career after defeating No. 5 seed Daniil Medvedev in a grueling fourth-round match on Monday.

Always known for his candor, Medvedev pulled no punches after the match, acknowledging his frustration with his performance.

"I'm disappointed with the way I played today," Medvedev said. "I made too many unforced errors and didn't serve well enough. Credit to Alex, he played a great match and deserved to win."

De Minaur, who had never beaten Medvedev before, was thrilled with the victory.
